Throughout all the history, from antiquity to the present day, slaves have had one thing in common, that is being put in chains. When capturing or buying a slave, it is customary to put shackles on their ankles and wrists to limit their movements and thus prevent them from running away. In addition, it is customary to remove all their clothes and put something slave appropriate on them, but despite the rags they’re almost always naked and barefoot. It is also customary to collar and chain them like a dog. In this way they are subjected not only physically, but also psychologically, letting them know what their social position will be and that if they don’t obey, they will be subjected to punishment.
